Artist Win Pe Myint
A prolific and dedicated artist, Win Pe Myint’s works are done with details that are photograph-like, with themes that exude a mood of loneliness.
Win Pe Myint, or WPM as he signs his works, was born in 1948 in Minbu, a small town in Central Myanmar. Starting in 1968, he studied basic drawings under U Lun Gywe at the prestigious Yangon University Art Association. But he graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring Botany. He continued his art study under outstanding Myanmar artists U Thein Han, U Lun Gywe, U Shwe Oung Thame and U Paw Oo Thett after he finished his university life.
1973 – Started to show his paintings in group exhibitions
1980 – Member of Lokanat Gallery, Yangon. Exhibited in Japan, Korea, United States of America, England, China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
