Dr.U Lun Gywe

Artist Lun Gywe was born on 24th of September, 1930 in Yangon. In his youth, he was also known as Nyi Nyi. He started to interest in drawing sine he was 10 and at that time he was sketching random shape in the text books and school books. In 1942, he refuged to Mudon, Maw La Myine as a World War II refugee and studied at Shin Arahan post primary school. After finishing 7th grade, he started his career as an artist by learning water color art under U Chit Maung. As an artist, he has been through many art careers by being a poster, signboard and photography artists, art mentor, lecturer, head mentor and professor. He studied Eastern Art in the People,s Republic of China(1964) and Restoration of painting in Berlin, East Germany (1972). He had participated in many group art exhibitions and solo exhibition in both local and abroad. His paintings were being collected from U.S.A, England, France, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Hongkong, Taiwan, Japan, China, Brunei, India, New Zeland, Germany etc… He published 6 art books in Myanmar, Singapore and Thailand. He had participated in many art showcases and exhibitions in local and abroad.
