Artist Aung Thin Oo
Artist Aung Thin Oo is an artist and an associate professor at the painting department, National University of Art and Culture, Yangon. He was born in the former capital city of Myanmar, Mandalay in 1961. In 1985, He graduated Bsc Physics from the University of Mandalay. Although his academic background was physics, his dedication to art was intense. So during his Physics student life, he went to the State School of Fine Art, Mandalay, and achieved an Art Diploma Certificate in 1983. At that time, he learned the basic theories and concepts of art from the famous art masters at that era, U Khin Maung Chit, U Kyaw Lay, U Tin Aye, and U Zaw Win. Throughout his artist life, he had participated in more than 20 local art shows, 9 abroad art exhibitions in China and ASEAN regions. He successfully launched two solo shows as the remarkable milestones in Yangon, Myanmar (1999), and in Hong Kong, China (2009). He is also putting his effort for the betterment of art education in Myanmar.
